Canadiens vs. Devils All Time Record

Formerly the Kansas City Scouts (1974 to 1976) and Colorado Rockies (1976 to 1982), the New Jersey Devils arrived in the NHL in 1982-83. The team found success in New Jersey, appearing in the playoffs in 18 of the last 20 seasons.

The Canadiens played their first game against the Devils on October 14, 1982 in New Jersey, and won 5-3.

Montreal and New Jersey, Stanley Cup champions in 1995, 2000 and 2003, have met just once in the playoffs, in 1997. The Devils won the first round matchup in five games.

Tanguay, Price both out

by Dave Stubbs

Alex Tanguay will be out a minimum six weeks with a left shoulder separation. He's in a sling this afternoon. Audio of Tanguay will be posted here later.

Carey Price will not make the trip to New Jersey this evening. He felt a lower-body discomfort during warmup before Tuesday's game vs. Tampa Bay but soldiered on and in fact had a great game, winning in the shootout.

Carbo says Price is day to day, and could be ready to go as early as Sunday's matinée vs. Florida.

Callups from Hamilton: Kyle Chipchura, Max Pacioretty, Yannick Weber and Marc Denis. Weber might see some power play duty, if Carbo decides to use him, Denis will back up Jaro Halak against the Devils.

Not a fan of either team, but I have to say, hell of a game thread. Good work, probably the best I've ever seen on a message board.
We have an outstanding record considering the injuries we've had this year. The quality depth on this team is incredible.

We've lost for a week or more, guys like Komisarek, Begin, Dandenault, Koivu, Andrei Kostitsyn, Price, Laraque, Higgins and now Tanguay out for 6 weeks...

Here's hoping that the young guys can step up to the plate against a very good Devils' team.
