(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Kings try to end a five-game slide tonight when they host the New York Rangers at the Staples Center.

Los Angeles has lost nine of its last 10 games overall (1-7-2), including Saturday's 3-2 loss in Dallas. Jeff Halpern scored the game-winner with 3:44 remaining in the third to lift the Stars.

Rob Blake and Tom Kostopoulos each had goals for the Kings, while Mathieu Garon finished with 25 saves.

Saturday's defeat capped off a four-game road trip that also included losses to Colorado, Columbus and Minnesota.

The Kings will host Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

New York, meanwhile, has won three of its last five games. On Saturday, Jaromir Jagr tallied a goal and three assists in a 7-3 win over Phoenix.

Martin Straka added two goals and an assist, and Aaron Ward added a marker and two helpers for the Blueshirts. Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist made 23 saves to secure his fifth win of the season.
