SPOKANE, Wash. (CP) - J.P. Szaskiewicz's breakaway goal early in the second period lifted the Spokane Chiefs to a 3-1 win over the Chilliwack Bruins Wednesday night in Western Hockey League play.

The goal was a career-high fifth of the season for Szaskiewicz. Spokane also got a first-period goal from David Rutherford and an insurance marker from Seth Compton in the third period. Josh Aspenlind had the only goal for the Bruins, which came in the first period on the power play.
