Two days after news broke that top defenseman Mark Streit is likely to miss six months with an injured left shoulder, the team is announcing that forward Kyle Okposo is out indefinitely with an injured right shoulder that requires surgery.

According to a source, Okposo suffered a torn labrum in his right shoulder and is expected back in December.

Looks like El Nino will be a full time NHL player this season. Also looking pretty good that Couturier or Larsson ends up on the Island next draft.

Damn, and I thought the Flyers were having bad luck with injuries. Another important player loss due to injury for the Islanders, is DiPietro still healthy? That would be a surprise...
