(Sports Network) - The Florida Panthers try to push their winning streak to three games tonight when they visit the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum.

Since a six-game skid (0-5-1), the Cats have toppled Pittsburgh and Buffalo. On Thursday, Ric Jackman and Stephen Weiss each scored in the third period, as the Panthers topped the Eastern Conference-leading Sabres, 3-1.

Olli Jokinen scored his 13th goal of the year for the Panthers, while Nathan Horton and Jay Bouwmeester each had two assists in the win.

Netminder Alex Auld needed to make only 17 saves in the win to snap Florida's four-game home losing streak.

The Panthers, who played their first game since veteran center Joe Nieuwendyk announced his retirement due to back issues, will visit the NY Rangers on Sunday.
