(Sports Network) - The Atlantic Division-leading New Jersey Devils aim for their third straight win this evening, as they visit the rival New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum.

The Devils won their second consecutive game Friday evening by defeating the visiting Washington Capitals. Scott Gomez scored two goals and added an assist to lift New Jersey to the 4-3 decision at Continental Airlines Arena.

Patrik Elias added a goal and two assists for the Devils, while Martin Brodeur made 32 saves in the victory.

New Jersey currently has 45 points and is four ahead of the Isles for the top spot in the Atlantic.

The Devils have struggled on the road this season, going 8-10-1 as the visitor. Jersey has also lost five of its last six games at the Coliseum.

New York had won back-to-back games before dropping a test in Ottawa on Wednesday. Ray Emery stopped all 18 shots he faced to record his second shutout of the season as the Senators blanked the Islanders, 2-0, at Scotiabank Place.

Islanders netminder Rick DiPietro made 27 saves but saw his shutout string of 156 minutes and 30 seconds come to an end in the first period. The Isles also lost for just the second time in their last six games.
