(Sports Network) - The New York Islanders will try to halt a four-game losing streak tonight, when they visit the New Jersey Devils at Continental Airlines Arena.
The Islanders were handed their most recent setback Tuesday against visiting Philadelphia. Mike Knuble registered a goal and an assist to lead the Flyers to a 3-2 win at Nassau Coliseum.
Jason Blake and Mike Sillinger both scored for New York. Those goals came within a 33-second span in the closing minutes, but the Islanders were unable to complete the comeback.
Mike Dunham turned away 32 shots in defeat.
Tonight is the first step of a four-game road trip for the Isles, who are just 8-9-1 as the visitor this year.
The Devils will attempt to get back on the winning track after dropping a close one to the Rangers on Tuesday. Marcel Hossa scored in the eighth round of the shootout to give the Blueshirts a 3-2 victory at the Meadowlands.
After Henrik Lundqvist made a beautiful glove save on a shot by Jamie Langenbrunner, Hossa skated in on net and buried a wrist shot past Martin Brodeur into the left corner of the net. Lundqvist then preserved the victory with a right pad save on a backhander by Travis Zajac.
