(Sports Network) - The Carolina Hurricanes will try to get back in the win column tonight when they visit the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum.

The Hurricanes had a three-game winning streak halted Tuesday night as the New York Rangers downed them, 4-0, at Madison Square Garden. Jaromir Jagr scored two goals to become the NHL's all-time European-born goal-scoring leader, while Henrik Lundqvist made 34 saves for his third career shutout.

Cam Ward allowed four goals on 27 shots for the Hurricanes, who remained tied atop the Southeast Division standings with Atlanta.

Carolina's Rod Brind'Amour had his point streak halted at eight games in the loss. He had six goals and seven assists during the tear.

Tonight marks the middle test of a three-game road trip for the Hurricanes, who are 6-5-2 as the visiting club this year.

Meanwhile, the Islanders will begin a three-game homestand tonight after posting a 3-1-1 record on their recent road trip.
