(Sports Network) - The Florida Panthers will try to win back-to-back games for just the second time this season when they welcome the New York Islanders for tonight's game at the BankAtlantic Center.

The Panthers earned a victory Thursday night against the visiting Montreal Canadiens. Olli Jokinen tallied a hat trick on a season-high eight shots to lead Florida over Montreal, 5-1.

Jokinen scored twice in the second period and added his final goal near the end of the game. Nathan Horton assisted on all three scores.

Chris Gratton and Jay Bouwmeester also netted goals for the Panthers, who won for the first time in five games. On Monday, Florida dropped a 4-1 tilt to the visiting Capitals.

Ed Belfour was solid between the pipes, stopping 27 shots. The netminder has been victorious in his last five starts against the Canadiens, dating back to last season when he suited up with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Tonight is the finale of a three-game homestand for the Panthers, who are 6-3-1 as the host this season.
