Newt Gingrich on today's Face the Nation, called Sonia Sotomayor a Racialist.

What do you think?

I don't think that she is. Simply the Republicans trying to make a political point. But the issue here simply brings up the double standard in regards to race relations in the U.S.

This is all because of this the following quote from her:
"I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life."

Simply juxtapositioning phrases, could you imagine what would have happened from the Democrats if Newt had said:
"I would hope that a wise white male with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Latina woman who hasn't lived that life."

There would be protests everywhere he went, and would be out of political consultant work for life.

No, and as Nossagog said, the Republicans are just trying to make worse out of bad. If she could go back, she would explain her saying.
