(Sports Network) - The Carolina Hurricanes hope to keep their momentum going tonight when they visit the Washington Capitals at the Verizon Center.

Carolina has won three of its last four games. On Wednesday, Rod Brind'Amour tallied the game-winning goal as the Hurricanes edged the New York Rangers, 2-1, at the RBC Center.

Craig Adams also scored for the Hurricanes, who finished a four-game homestand with a 2-2 record. Goaltender Cam Ward allowed one goal on 24 shots in the victory.

Brind'Amour extended his point streak to six games, having tallied four goals and four assists during the run.

The Hurricanes, with 23 points, are now four behind first-place Atlanta for the Southeast Division lead.

Carolina will host Dallas on Saturday.

Washington, meanwhile, had a two-game winning streak ended in Wednesday's 3-2 shootout loss to visiting Boston. Patrice Bergeron's goal in the second round of the shootout lifted the Bruins.
