RALEIGH, NC - The Carolina Hurricanes, suffering from injuries to their forwar ranks, have recalled Keith Aucoin and Ryan Bayda on an emergency basis from Albany of the American Hockey League.

Left wing Andrew Ladd has been placed on injured reserve after suffering an upper-body injury in Carolina's 4-3 win at Atlanta on Friday. Winger Trevor Letowski also left Saturday night's game after receiving a heavy hit from Pittsburgh's Colby Armstrong.

Aucoin, 27, ranks tied for first among Albany skaters with two goals and one assist in the team's three games this season. The Waltham, Mass., native made his NHL debut in 2005-06, earning one assist in seven games with the Hurricanes.

A 5-foot-9, 187-pound forward, Aucoin ranked 10th in the AHL last season with 85 points in 72 games with Lowell, Carolina's former AHL affiliate.
