(Sports Network) - You can't say that the Carolina Hurricanes are necessarily suffering through a Stanley Cup hangover, but things have been a little inconsistent so far.

The Canes lost their first four games, before winning the next three. Now they stand on a two-game skid that includes Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the host NY Islanders. Tom Poti's power play goal, 23 seconds into OT, lifted the Isles.

Trailing 3-2 with 3:10 left in regulation, the Islanders tied the game on a power play when Mike Sillinger's wrist shot from the left circle found the net on John Grahame's glove side. Poti then netted the game-winner with assists from Alexei Yashin and Miroslav Satan. It was a shot from inside the blue line with the puck finding its way through a maze of players and into the net.

Justin Williams tallied twice and Rod Brind'Amour also scored and notched two assists for the Hurricanes. Grahame finished with 21 saves in the loss.

Williams currently leads the team with five goals and is tied with Brind'Amour for the best mark at 10 points. He has three power-play markers and one while shorthanded.
