My new Goalie equipment, (Without The Chest Protector, And Pants) only weighs like 12-15 pounds. The new equipment is very light, as compared to the older equipment that was once used, and I own a few parts of the equipment from the 80's.

Its funny back in the day Goalie pads weighed 20-30 pounds each compared to the feathers they wear today heh. Man when I started hockey by the time you we're done a period each pad would way 50lbs from all the water it had absorbed lol.

When all is said and done (everything included)......I'd say closer to 40-45 pounds. Ever lug a goalie bag?...Made out of freaking lead dey is.

When you get hit you still get stung, right? I saw Esche or Niitymaki get hit point blank in the chest from 15' or so a few nights ago. That's got to hurt and leave a few bruises.

Do you feel like you're in a cage when you have everything on? I imagine it makes it difficult to move your arms (not to mention your legs...and your head) fast.
