PORTLAND, Ore. (CP) - Nicholas Hotson and Viktor Sjodin scored in the shootout as the Portland Winter Hawks defeated the Prince George Cougars 3-2 in Western Hockey League action on Wednesday night.
Frazer McLaren and Matt Betker scored power-play goals during regulation for Portland (13-26-1-1). Greg Gardner and Ty Wishart scored for Prince George (16-19-2-4).
Winter Hawks goalie Kurtis Mucha blocked 30 shots in regulation - including 14 in the third period to preserve the 2-2 deadlock - and then stopped Dana Tyrell and Eric Hunter in the shootout.
