The Buffalo Sabres have won their first three games, a feat unaccomplished since the shortened 1994-95 season.
If they're able to defeat the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night in Joe Louis Arena, they will be 4-0 for the first time in more than three decades. What's more, they will have done so against playoff teams, three of which won their divisions.
The Sabres opened with a shootout victory over the Stanley Cup hoisting Carolina Hurricanes, won another shootout over the Montreal Canadiens and beat the Eastern Conference regular-season champion Ottawa Senators.
