(Sports Network) - The Washington Capitals will try to match their longest winning streak of the season tonight, when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning at St. Pete Times Forum.

The Capitals have won three in a row and are trying to equal the four-game stretch they put together from November 28-December 6.

Washington's latest victory came on Tuesday against the lowly Philadelphia Flyers. Alexander Ovechkin scored two goals and added an assist as the Caps rolled to the 6-2 victory in D.C.

Ovechkin leads the NHL with 28 goals this season and is second in the league with 59 points.

Washington won all four meetings with Philadelphia this year and completed its first season sweep over the Flyers in franchise history.

Olaf Kolzig made 31 saves while Dainius Zubrus and Chris Clark each added two helpers for the Capitals.

Washington, which is 8-7-4 as the visitor this season, begins a four-game road trip tonight.

The Lightning have won two straight thanks to a home-and-home series with the Pittsburgh. Tampa Bay earned a shootout win in Pittsburgh on Sunday and then beat the Penguins in regulation Tuesday at the Forum.
