VANCOUVER (CP) - Ryan Holzapfel's goal early in the third period proved to be the winner as the Moose Jaw Warriors defeated the Vancouver Giants 3-1 in WHL action Wednesday night.

Giffen Nyren and Brady Calla had the other goals for Moose Jaw (13-24-2-0). Kyle Lamb had the lone goal for Vancouver (27-6-3-4).

The Warriors seemed to be boosted by the presence of Garret Robinson, who was injured in a car accident earlier in the year and has been recovering in Vancouver ever since. The Warriors visited their injured teammate before Robinson made the trip to the game to support his squad.

Nyren opened the scoring with his first WHL goal. The rookie centre stole the puck from Giants defenceman Nolan Toigo, also a rookie, and scored on a breakaway at 3:22.
