Us Detroiter's had the pleasure of hockey night in Canada every saturday being on the border with Windsor. Most games were from Maple Leaf Gardens but a lot from the Forum as well. I still watch it to this day. Some of the best announcers. So were Martin and Lynch for Detroit.

I think it's sad to see what's become of HNIC. They let go of their best play-by-play man in Cuthbert and replaced him with Hughson, who's still better than Bob Cole but no where close to Cuthbert. On top of that it's always a Leafs game on Saturday night. They used to split up the network on Saturday Nights but now they don't bother. The lowpoint of the year was on the Day Boom Boom Geoffrion died and had his Jersey retired at the Bell Centre. All CBC could talk about was how Domi was being benched for the first time in his tenure as a Leaf. Atleast they apologized for it the following week.

I don't like to bash Cole, because he was once great, he's just getting old now. HNIC must have the worst colour guys. Harry Neale and Greg Millen teach me nothing. I hate to sound arrogant but they never have anything insightful to say. I enjoyed hearing Andy Murray this year. He brought some much needed knowledge to the booth.

I don't think HNIC will be around much longer, CTV's going to try to get their hands on that cashcow.

But aside from that rant, I love Ron Mclean and Don Cherry. Always will.

I agree, I think Neal & Cole have to go.

HNIC & CBC have become the Leafs network! Neal & Cole do all the Leafs games regardless of what network they are on. So why do they have them doing other teams when it is quite obvious that they don't really know enough about them, they can't even get the players names right. In reality, they are the voice of the Leafs!!

Every city in Canada has it's own CBC station, so why can't they have their home teams playing on Saturday nights, rather than the Leafs all the time?

I wish they would go back to Wednesday nights as well, just like they did in the good old days!!

Hockey Night in Canada seem to be making a concerted effort this season to deepen their coverage. Their are at least three games on every week and that means depending on where you live you don't have to watch the Leafs. I agree Bob Cole is passed his prime but having let Cuthbert go they don't have anyone to replace him and staff three different broadcast crews.

I hate HNIc . they show all maple leafs games......:( I want to watch sens!
If you can swing it at all, you should get the Satellite Dish, then make sure you get time shift with it, then you would get all the CBC feeds from across Canada!

If you go to Future Shop or Best Buy, you can check out the prices.

I agree
You seem confused, so here's some help. If the phrase "great save" is in a sentence, they're not talking about Sauve.
