For the second time in franchise history the Calgary Hitmen are Western Hockey League Eastern Conference Champions.
They completed a four game sweep of the Brandon Wheat Kings Wednesday night with a 6-4 win in Brandon.
The Hitmen jumped out to a 5-0 second period lead en route to a WHL record tying 12th straight post season win.
Alex Plante, Keith Seabrook, Tomas Karpov and Bostjan Golicic all had a goal and an assist for Calgary while Paul Postma and Brett Sonne also produced goals.
The Hitmen will now face either the Kelowna Rockets or the Vancouver Giants in the Western Hockey League Championship Series. The Giants currently lead the Western Conference Championship Series 2-1.
This will be Calgary's second trip to the WHL final, last advancing in 1999.
