CALGARY (CP) - The Calgary Hitmen scored five power-play goals in the second period on their way to a 6-2 win over the Prince Albert Raiders in Western Hockey League action Wednesday night.

After a scoreless first period, Ashton Hewson scored at 2:31 of the second period to put the Raiders up 1-0. The Hitmen (23-13-0-3) then reeled off six goals before the end of the middle period in which they fired a franchise-record of 26 shots in one period.

Defenceman Alex Plante had four assists for the Hitmen (23-13-0-3), who ended a two-game losing streak on home ice. Calgary captain Dylan Yeo scored once and assisted on two others, while Brett Sonne, Keegan Dansereau, Brandon Kozun and Brodie Dupont also scored for the Hitmen. Ryan White chipped in with two assists.

Ryan McDonald rounded out the scoring with a third period goal for the Raiders (17-19-2-2), who lost their fourth straight game.
