DETROIT -- It was one exhibition game, and nobody will remember it in a few days.
But it did provide a glimpse of what Dominik Hasek can provide the Wings this season.
That is, if he's healthy, if he hasn't lost anything at 41 and he's motivated and focused as he was in 2002 when Hasek was part of the Wings' Stanley Cup team.
Hasek played his first complete game of the exhibition season and stopped 21 shots in a 5-3 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday night.
"Dom, in the first period, he kept us in the game," coach Mike Babcock said. "We were porous. He made some big saves and gave us an opportunity, and we were able to score some goals for him."
hasek was key in this win! im really excited about the outcome of this game! here is to an awesome hockey season!
