MONTREAL (CP) - The Montreal Canadiens acquired Mathieu Biron from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Patrick Traverse in a swap of minor-league defencemen Friday.
Biron, 26, had 18 points (3-15) and a plus-7 rating in 24 games with Worcester of the AHL this season. He has 12 goals, 32 assists and 177 penalty minutes in 253 career NHL games with the Islanders, Tampa, Florida and Washington.
