(Sports Network) - The Montreal Canadiens and Chicago Blackhawks renew an Original Six rivalry this evening when they meet at the United Center.

This is the 550th all-time meeting between these teams and the only one this season. Montreal has won three straight and five of the last six meetings.

The Canadiens played Tuesday evening and picked up a close victory over the visiting Calgary Flames. Sheldon Souray and Radek Bonk both scored two goals to lead the Habs to the 5-4 win at the Bell Centre.

Alex Kovalev scored the game-winning goal late in the second period for Montreal, which has earned at least a point in each of its first five games this season (3-0-2). Cristobal Huet allowed four goals on 24 shots in the victory.

The Blackhawks played Monday evening in Colorado and earned a victory over the Avalanche. Martin Lapointe scored a pair of goals, including the go-ahead tally early in the third period to lift Chicago to the 5-3 victory at the Pepsi Center.

Martin Havlat added two assists to increase his NHL-leading point total to 12 through five games for the Blackhawks, who have alternated wins and losses this season.
