Matt Ellis tallied two goals and an assist and goaltender Jimmy Howard made 26 saves in the Griffins 4-2 win at home against Rochester, who has lost two of their first three games on their current six game road trip.
Kip Miller added two assists while teammates Brock Radunske and Darryl Bootland each recorded a goal for Grand Rapids.
Anthony Stewart and Mark Mancari tallied both goals in the Amerks loss.
