This wasn't the way the first game of John Grahame's second chance was supposed to go.

After a difficult season with the Tampa Bay Lightning a year ago, the goalie was looking forward to opening a new chapter in his career with the Carolina Hurricanes. That will have to wait after Grahame gave up six goals on 31 shots in a 6-3 loss to the Florida Panthers on Wednesday.

"It was an exciting night," Grahame said. "I was looking forward to getting in there and getting the opportunity. The team's been fighting it a little bit, so the goalie needs to come up big. Tonight, I thought my positioning was a little bit off. I got caught trying to be a little more aggressive. It was a good opportunity for the team and for me and I feel like I let everybody down."
