BOUCHERVILLE, Thursday, December 28, 2006 - A few organizations got back into the trade period rhythm late yesterday as a few of them acquired goaltenders for the stretch run. The Halifax Mooseheads traded goaltender Jérémy Duchesne (86-10-17) to the Val-d'Or Foreurs for Guillaume Monast (88-05-12) and a third round pick in the 2008 QMJHL Entry Draft. The Foreurs also acquired defenseman Jason Legault (88-02-23) from the Tigres for their fifth round pick (acquired from Victoriaville) in 2007.

Duchesne started twenty-eight games for the Mooseheads this year, collecting twelve wins while posting a 3.68 goals-against-average and a .891 save percentage.

Also, the Rimouski Océanic acquired goaltender Ben MacFarlane (87-09-13) from the Shawinigan Cataractes for winger Kevin Cormier (86-01-27) and a sixth round pick (acquired from PEI via Gatineau) in 2007.

Cormier has five goals and four assists in twenty-eight games so far this season while MacFarlane has registered eight wins in twenty-one starts. He has posted a 3.62 goals-against-average as well as a .893 save percentage.

The trade period ends on Monday, January 8, at noon.
