(CP) - David Brown of Stoney Creek, Ont., a senior who tends goal for Notre Dame, has helped the Fighting Irish to their longest unbeaten streak in 19 years.
Notre Dame, 8-1-1 and ranked sixth among all U.S. college hockey teams in the latest polls, is enjoying its best start since 1998. Brown has played a key role. The 2004 Pittsburgh Penguins draft pick leads the NCAA with a 1.20 goals-against average and .953 save percentage. He has two shutouts and helped start an eight-game undefeated streak by beating then-No. 1 Boston College 7-1 on Oct. 20.
