First, a plus to Phil Kessel of the Boston Bruins.

After taking a couple of days to get his timing back following his cancer surgery, he's on a roll.

The rookie forward had a pair of goals Wednesday, and then fired home the winner in the shootout Thursday night.

He's now 2-for-2 on the shootout.

A minus to the Anaheim Ducks, who are in a serious dive and despite their once comfortable cushion, they've now fallen out of first overall in the league.

They've only won two games since losing goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere and blueliner Francois Beauchemin on Boxing Day, and then lost defenceman Chris Pronger two games later.

The Nashville Predators officially took over top spot on Thursday night.

A plus goes to the Washington's Alexander the Great.

But not the Alexander that immediately comes to mind.

Winger Alexander Semin now has 10 goals in his last seven games.. He's the first Capitals player with that many over that short a stretch since Peter Bondra eight years ago.
