A minus to the horrendous crowd in St. Louis Thursday night. True the weather was bad, and the team is even worse, but this is ridiculous. The official attendance was announced at 5,410, which would make it the fifth smallest crowd in franchise history, but according to some accounts, the real number was about half that.

A plus to the University of Vermont. Not only did the school boast three alumni in Thursday night's game between Tampa and Boston, but all three made big contributions. A goal for Martin St. Louis, a goal and an assist for Eric Perrin, and Tim Thomas was the hero in the shootout.

Wow St.Louis will be moving cities soon if it doesnt get some fans to the games. The stadium can seat over 3x that amount of people.

It's pretty sad eh? :(

I don't even know how they can afford to pay the salaries there, even with the cap? :dunno:

I don't know if the new arena is paid for or not?

Will they NHL have to move the team if things keep going this way?
It would take more then one season low attendance to force a move.

Here's their average attendance for the years posted:

2000-01 - 19,518

2001-02 - 18,485

2002-03 - 18,570

2003-04 - Lock-Out Season

2005-06 - 14,213

2006-07 - 10,813 (So far this season)

I don't think the St. Louis faithful like Checketts? It seems, ever since there was talk of, then him buying the team, the attendance as gone down?

Slight mistake I suppose...

The point trying to be made I guess is the drastic fall in interest in the team. They were really throwing around the money before the Cap came into play, and they were one ofthe team hurt most. The team was terrible at best.

They're getting better now, but are St. Louis citizens finding other sports of more interest?

Maybe they just want a winner/more competitive team/team that made the playoffs 24 season in a row.

Whatever the case be, that's really sad.

I don't think the Blues should go anywhere. The pre-lockout attendence #'s where great and with a winning team I'm sure more people would care. You gotta give them a few more years and to see if when the team improves so does the attendence.
