(Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Flyers will try to build on their first home win in over two months tonight, when they welcome the Detroit Red Wings to the Wachovia Center.
The Flyers, who are 4-15-7 as the host club this year, snapped a franchise- record 13-game home losing streak Saturday against the St. Louis Blues. It was the first victory in Philadelphia for the Flyers since they beat Columbus on November 24.
Simon Gagne was the hero for Philadelphia on Saturday, as he scored late in the third period to tie the game and then tallied again 27 seconds into overtime to give the Flyers a 4-3 triumph. It was the second straight two-goal game for Gagne, who scored twice and eventually had a hat trick taken away from him in Philadelphia's 5-4 shootout loss to Pittsburgh on Thursday.
