Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Mathieu Garon stopped 26 shots for his second shutout of the season to help the Los Angeles Kings to a 2-0 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Staples Center.

Lubomir Visnovsky scored a goal and an assist and Michael Cammalleri and Sean Avery each scored a goal for the Kings, who stopped a small two-game slide.

Fredrik Norrena made 29 saves in the loss for the Blue Jackets, who have lost three of their last four games.

The Kings scored in the first period when Cammalleri scored on a backhand shot during a scrum in front of the net for a 1-0 lead 8:17 into the first period.

Garon only needed to make seven saves in the first period.

Both teams had 10 shots in the middle frame, but the goaltenders stood tall and it remained a 1-0 Los Angeles lead heading into the final period.

The Kings added an insurance goal in the third period when Alexander Frolov slid a pass from the left circle to the low right side where Avery one-timed it under the left pad of Norrena for a 2-0 lead with 8:48 to play.
