I'll reserve my comment until I've seen the actual hit (if you've got video, here's your cue to post it). However, I will wish Oberg a complete recovery and hope that he can return to playing hockey next season, if not sooner. The American Hockey League on Wednesday announced a 10-game suspension for Hamilton Bulldogs forward Gabriel Dumont, in connection with a dangerous boarding play on March 13 in a game against Rochester.
Rochester defenceman Evan Oberg, who spent time the Vancouver Canucks this season, suffered a serious neck injury on the play and may require surgery.
Dumont in his first full season with the Bulldogs after being selected in the fifth round of the 2009 NHL entry draft by the Montreal Canadiens. He scored 52 goals in his final junior season with Drummondville.
The 20-year-old will be eligible to return to game action on April 4.
Oberg is no longer in the Vancouver organization, traded before the deadline in a move that saw forward Chris Higgins come to the Canucks.
