Fog Devils 9, Remparts 5

Kenny Pennell scored twice as the St. John's Fog Devils racked up a franchise-record nine goals in one game Friday.

Both of Pennell's goals came in the second period and the Fog Devils went on to down the Quebec Remparts 9-5 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

St. John's had five unanswered goals in the second period. The previous team record was seven goals in one game.

At St. John's, N.L., Nicolas Bachand, Luke Gallant, Jean-Simon Allard, Luke Adam, Maxim Chamberland, Ryan Graham and Nick Layton scored a goal each for the Fog Devils (21-28-2-1).

Billy Bezeau, Ruslan Bashkirov, Roman Bashkirov, Angelo Esposito and Kelsey Tessier replied for the Remparts (29-21-2-3).

Voltigeurs 4, Rocket 3

At Charlottetown, Alexandre Demers put away the winner as Drummondville edged the Rocket.

Tomas Zohorna had two goals for the Voltigeurs (24-22-1-3), while Jonathan Duchesneau added one.

Chris Doyle, Guillaume Doucet and Martin Latal scored for P.E.I. (26-19-2-5).

Oceanic 5, Screaming Eagles 3

At Sydney, N.S., Michael Frolik scored twice, including an empty-net goal, as Rimouski beat the Screaming Eagles.

Pierre-Alexandre Joncas, Maxime Tanguay and Maxime Gratchev added a goal each for the Oceanic (15-30-6-1).

James Sheppard, Robert Slaney and Cam Fergus replied for Cape Breton (33-17-2-0).

Wildcats 6, Saint John 4

At Saint John, N.B., Matt Eagles and Pierre-Marc Lessard both scored two goals as Moncton downed the Sea Dogs.

Maxime Lincourt and Randy Cameron had a goal apiece for the Wildcats (34-18-1-2).

Keven Guerette-Charland and Ryan Sparling both had two goals for Saint John (14-33-1-2).

Maineiacs 3, Titan 2 (SO)

At Lewiston, Maine, Pierre-Luc Faubert scored the shootout winner as the Maineiacs edged Acadie-Bathurst.

Simon Courcelles and Jakub Bundil had a goal each in regulation for Lewiston (35-11-2-4).

Martin Bartos and Samuel Morneau accounted for the Titan's (27-21-1-3) goals.

Huskies 4, Cataractes 1

At Shawinigan, Que., Michael Dubuc scored twice in just over four minutes as Rouyn-Noranda downed the Cataractes.

Jeff Desjardins and Guillaume Mailloux added a goal each for the Huskies (28-20-3-4).

Patrick Bernier had the lone goal for Shawinigan (21-26-2-3).

Sagueneens 5, Tigres 2

At Chicoutimi, Que., Francis Verreault-Paul put away four goals and added an assist as the Sagueneens downed Victoriaville.

David Desharnais also scored for Chicoutimi (25-24-4-1).

Toby Lafrance and Kyle McNeil had first-period goals for the Tigres (29-18-2-2).

Drakkar 5, Foreurs 4 (OT)

At Baie-Comeau, Que., Francois Bouchard scored two goals, including the overtime winner, as the Drakker edged Val-d'Or.

Pierre-Cedrick Labrie also had two goals for Baie-Comeau (28-17-1-6), while Maxime Ouimet had one.

Mathieu Roy had two goals for the Foreurs (32-17-3-2), while Jerome Samson and Brad Marchand added one each.
