(Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Flyers will try to snap their franchise- record losing streak this evening, as they travel north of the border to face the streaking Montreal Canadiens.

The Flyers set a dubious club mark by dropping their seventh straight contest Tuesday against visiting Carolina. Anton Babchuk's second-period goal put the Hurricanes ahead for good and Cam Ward paved the way with 29 saves in the 2-1 decision.

Simon Gagne scored the only goal for Philadelphia, which is 0-6-1 since picking up its last win on November 30.

Goaltender Antero Niittymaki was very strong with 40 saves in the loss.

The Flyers were without top center Peter Forsberg, who is sidelined with a concussion. He is questionable for tonight's game.

However, Philadelphia should have a new forward on the ice tonight, as left wing Mike York is expected to make his Flyers debut. Philly acquired York from the New York Islanders on Wednesday in exchange for forward Randy Robitaille and a fifth-round pick in the 2008 draft.

The 28-year-old York had tallied six goals and seven assists for 13 points in 32 games for the Islanders this season.
