Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday announced that forwards Geoff Sanderson and Mike Richards both had surgery.

Sanderson suffered a sports hernia, while Richards has been afflicted with a stomach injury. Both surgeries were performed by Dr. Bill Meyers at Hahnemann University.

Flyers athletic trainer and strength and conditioning coach Jim McCrossin hopes that both players will be back within three to six weeks.

"I spoke with Dr. Meyers and spoke to Mike Richards a few times and Richie is feeling really good. Dr. Meyers said the repairs went very well."
