(Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Flyers return home after a road trip tonight when they welcome the Pittsburgh Penguins to the Wachovia Center.

Philly went 2-2-0 during the swing, including consecutive wins over Anaheim and Los Angeles. However, the Flyers were pounded, 6-1, in San Jose Saturday night. The Sharks tallied three times in the first and second periods en route to the victory.

Geoff Sanderson provided the lone goal for the Flyers, who were attempting to extend their first winning streak of the season to three.

Robert Esche started between the pipes for Philadelphia, but was tagged for six goals on 18 shots and pulled in favor of Antero Niittymaki in the second period. Niittymaki finished with seven saves the rest of the way.

Philadelphia fell to 0-11-1 this season when allowing the first goal of the game.

The Flyers, who are 2-5-2 on home ice, will host Ottawa on Wednesday.

Pittsburgh, meanwhile, has won two of its last three games. On Saturday, Mark Recchi's third and fourth goals of the season proved to be the difference in a 3-1 win over the visiting New York Rangers.
