(Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Flyers will try to extend their season- long winning streak to four games tonight, when they visit the rival New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

The Flyers have come out on top in their last three contests to improve to 3-1 on their current eight-game road trip. They were also in the New York Area on Tuesday and held on to beat the Islanders, 3-2.

Mike Knuble registered a goal and an assist to lead the Flyers to the triumph at Nassau Coliseum.

Kyle Calder and Ryan Potulny each had a goal while Robert Esche made 40 saves for the Flyers, who had dropped a franchise-worse 10 games in a row before the current hot streak.

Philadelphia did lose center Peter Forsberg to a groin injury in Tuesday's game. The Flyers' captain is expected to miss at least a week with his latest injury. Forsberg has played in just 27 games this year while battling foot and ankle problems and various other ailments.

The Rangers are also coming off a win streak, having taken two in a row. They most recently posted a shootout victory in New Jersey on Tuesday.

Marcel Hossa scored in the eighth round of the shootout to give the Rangers a 3-2 victory at Continental Airlines Arena.
