Philadelphia Flyers forward Jeff Carter has a broken bone in his left ankle and will be out for approximately six weeks.
The 21-year-old suffered the injury blocking a shot in the first period of a game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on November 2nd. The swelling around the ankle had subsided but it was still causing him discomfort.
"Speaking with our medical staff we felt it was warranted to get an MRI and investigate his injury a little bit closer. The MRI did reveal a crack," said Flyers' trainer and strength and conditioning coach Jim McCrossin.
