Sutter: 'Keenan an elite coach'

Calgary general manager Darryl Sutter, speaking for the first time since the Flames were eliminated from the playoffs, gave a thumbs up to head coach Mike Keenan on Friday as players gathered for the last time this season

I'm willing to give Keenan another chance but if he doesn't produce I say axe him.

The Calgary Flames made two big deals at the first day of the NHL Entry Draft, trading Alex Tanguay to the Montreal Canadiens for the 25th pick overall and acquiring centre Mike Cammalleri from Los Angeles for the 17th overall pick....more

Now that's what I'm talking about, good job Sutter!
I agree. Although I do like Tanguay, I am really looking forward to Cammalleri coming to town. Cammalleri/Langkow/Iginla, I like it.

I am still hearing more rumours that Sutter wants to make another big move. I've heard (from hockeybuzz - so take it as you wish) that a Spezza for Regher deal could go down soon.
interesting move. im asuming that next year's roster will look something like this...

Cammalleri-Langkow?-Iginla
(Scoring Winger)-Lombardi-Nolan?
Yelle-Boyd-Primeau
Nilson-Backlund-Nystrom

Regehr-Aucoin
Phaneuf-Erikkson
Sarich-Vandermeer
Warrener

Kipprusoff
(probably rotate backups)

We just need one more scoring winger I think. and mabye trade either Warrener, Sarich or Vandermeer to get something in return.

Hey Phaneuf nice to see you stop in.... I do agree with a Warrener trade but not Sarich I'd rather put Erikkson or Hale on the block, and as for Vandermeer and Langkow haven't even signed with us yet so all we can do is wait and see.

Glencross is alright. Good energy guy, but I hope this isn't Sutters plan for our 2nd line.

Now who's the better player Jim or Peter? :dunno:
Jim is 10 times better than Peter. Pete's just a big goon. He's basically a career minor leaguer

Jamie Lundmark? wtf. I was very happy with what Sutter has done to the team until now. I realize it's a minor move, but I didn't care for Lundmark the first time around. who knows, maybe he's improved his game the last couple of years.

Oh Lord no. What's next, bringing back Daniel Tkaczuk? Maybe throw in Jesper Matsson? And while we're at it, let's give Vernon one more chance.
