Soon to be unbound by contracts are the knobby-headed likes of Zenon Konopka, Jordin Tootoo and old friend Brandon Prust. All would fit the bill.

Bruisers on the blueline — or as the team likes to say these days: “time-and-space eliminators.”

Feaster and his brainstrust have identified a few of these players and are prepared to acquire them via trade. Friday morning, as part of that sandpaper initiative, Cory Sarich was signed to a two-year extension.
