CALGARY (CP) - It was Adam Cracknell's turn to showcase his scoring touch for the Calgary Flames.
The 21-year-old right winger notched the go-ahead goal with 3:33 left in the game as the Flames beat the Vancouver Canucks 3-1 Tuesday to improve their record to 2-0.
Cracknell wheeled out of the corner and snapped a perfect top corner shot past Canucks goaltender Drew MacIntyre on a power play.
"I had an open net earlier in the game and hit the post and I was upset with myself about that one so it was a great feeling to get that goal," Cracknell said.
In both of its pre-season victories, Calgary has gotten key goals from WHL graduates. Like Sunday's night star Dustin Boyd, Cracknell is also coming off his fourth and final year in the WHL. Both players also had a 40-plus goal season.
