Sources tell TSN a modest groundswell of supporters are trying to encourage Mike Keenan to consider coaching Finland in the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Keenan hasn't officially been approached by Finnish Hockey executive Jari Kurri, but he has spoken to Florida Panthers captain Olli Jokinen about the job.

Jokinen approached Keenan this week to alert him to the fact his name was being tossed around Finnish players and Finnish media as a potential candidate.

"It's an interesting idea," Keenan told TSN. "They're doing a super job in maintaining a world class program in Finland and I guess my International success with Canada may provide some interest, but the global approach is nothing new."

Keenan seems flattered by the attention however, he's quick to point out other than Jokinen and the Finnish media, there has been no official contact. So, for the moment he is reluctant to discuss whether or not such an opportunity is one he might seriously consider.
