In The Spotlight

G Miikka Kiprusoff

Kiprusoff made headlines when he said he wouldn't go to the Olympics if he wasn't the starting goaltender, and his performance this year hasn't really left any other possibility. He will be the starter for Finland, he has the ability to steal games from teams that are playing better and he has the ability to make saves that he has no business making.

D Kimmo Timonen

Thanks to the acquisition of Pronger, he hasn't been playing as much as he had last year, but he's still put up 20 points so far this season and is a plus player on a team that's struggling to put up numbers and wins. At the Olympics, he'll play in every situation for Finland.

C Olli Jokinen

The number one center for both the New York Rangers and Finland started the season slowly, but has picked it up offensively recently. He'll get plenty of ice time in offensive situations and be counted on to provide timely scoring.

Douglas Murray from team sweden says: Selänne have to keep head up in box because of him. Fu...ing idiot, I dont scare he can do anything but giving that kind of statements is just stupid. Selänne is covering from chin injury and 1000 times better player than that swede monkey, so it helps hockey if Murray hurt best players on ice.
Go home and stay there Murray.

I'm not sure why Selanne recovering from his broken jaw makes him immune to physical play, but if he's out there on the ice playing the game, he is fair game for physical play. Physical play and intimidation are Douglas Murray's calling card.

He made a similar statement to Radulov for a recent World Championship game. He made a similar statement to Bouchard of the Wild. Both times, they didn't listen to him and put their heads down and received a heavy hit.

As long as he doesn't go out and do anything dirty, which he usually doesn't do, then he can hit Selanne as many times as he wants.

Swedish media thinks that Finland lose for purpose. But unfortunately Finland lose because we really sucks. Kiprusoff was only player who did his job.
We won't lose sweden ever because of tactics. I hope our game will be better so we can win Canada in finals.
