You post a statment and the next person who says that it's either fact or fiction and then posts their own statement and it keeps going on and on etc.

First one....

F/F The Penguins will make the playoffs.

FACT! With Marc-Andre Fleury in goal and Crosby up front, all they need is a great veteran who is a great leader and one of the best of all time. A guy like........... MARIO!!! this team has the talent and the leadership of the great mario to make it into the playoffs. As of winning in the playoffs, thats a different story.

Fact or Fiction.....
The new NHL will see new fans going to games because of the faster pace of the game and higher scoring.

Fiction:

The NHL has a die hard fan base with nothing more available; and the lockout is going to push the league into further obscurity. Can you say El Ocho?

F/F
The Flyers really are the best team in the league.

Fact
fans love to see high speed action on the ice and love to see tons of scoring and points. although hockey is not exactly knows for high scoring, look for bigger crowd atenndings, but less tv viewings cuz of the stupid mother :censure: tv deals because no one has OLN! and center ice costs too much

F or F
over the next few years, one or 2 teams will emrge as a top contender and leave the rest behind, like the dynasties way back when. to me, the leagus is pretty even right now

my post is for the first reply in case anyone was wondering
but here an answer to the second

The Flyers are definetely not the best team in the NHL right now. they are one of tehtop eams thjough. No team can really be called the top. thjere is a very fine lines between th better teams but no real disctinction between the top ones. But the flyers do have abetter chance of winnin ghte cup than, lets say, the lightning, or the senators

same F/F as previous post

Fiction,Calgary and Colorado will not make it this time around.

F/F The Blackhawks will make the playoffs.
Fiction:

The hawks have improved they're team yes, but not enough, thet have a great goaltender but thats it, they're other additions are not as impressive, Barnaby, Lapointe, Simpson, Aucoin, there good players, but just that not great. They will still have to contend with the rising bluejackets, the fiesty predators and the still very talented redwings!

F/F - Are the maple leafs team in as much trouble as fans are anticipating?

Fiction.

The Leafs now have a very good top two lines:

Czerkawski Sundin Lindros
Tucker Allison O'neill

And while they lost Leetch on defense, they are starting the season with basically the same defense they had most of last season and they did pretty well with them before. They do have some injury concerns, but that's nothing new.

F/F - Crosby will do as well as the media says he will.

Fiction: He will never even be considered as good as Lemieux or Gretzky. He will be a good player yes but not a legend of hockey like the media says.

Fact:

The leafs do still have a strong enough team to at leats make it to the top 8 of the conference, probably around the 6, 7 or 8th seed, probably against Ottawa or Philly. How ever they do not have the skill to proceed past the first round, could this be the year Ottawa beats the Leafs, only time will tell.

F/F - The coyotes have assembled a good enough team to be taken seriously and have a respectable playoff run.

Fiction: They're solid, but they're not equipped for a cup run, IMO

F/F:
Florida's 'sign every free agent over 35' plan will work and they will make the playoffs.

Fact. They get motivated and clinch that last spot with a little help from their own division by Carolina and Washington.

F/F: Jokinen will start his season in some other league before he gets a deal done in NHL.
