(Sports Network) - The Ottawa Senators looked to free agency for Dominik Hasek's permanent replacement over the summer. Perhaps they should have just peeked in their own dressing room.

As free agent pickup Martin Gerber continues to struggle, former backup Ray Emery continues to shine. In 12 games (11 starts) the latter player is 8-3-0 with a 2.19 goals-against average and .928 save percentage.

Gerber, on the other hand, is 3-8-1 with a 3.45 GAA and .890 SP.

Emery and the Sens seek their fifth straight win Sunday when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning at the St. Pete Times Forum.

On Friday the Sens posted a 6-4 win in Florida, as Dany Heatley notched his fifth-career hat trick and added an assist to lead the effort at the BankAtlantic Center.

Jason Spezza added a goal and an assist and Emery stopped 33 shots for the Senators, who have won five of their last six games.
