The Elmira Jackals, Proud Member of the ECHL, have formally released the team's 2009-2010 ECHL Regular Season Schedule. The Jackals will begin the campaign with the team's home opener on Friday, October 16th, 2009 against the Cincinnati Cyclones beginning at 7:35 pm, and will conclude the campaign on Saturday April 3rd, 2010 on the road against the Johnstown Chiefs.
The 2009-2010 season schedule will probably be the most favorable fixture list in the Jackals 10 years of competition. The team will be playing thirty-three of their thirty-six games on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with one game on a Tuesday (Nov. 11th against the defending Kelly Cup Champion South Carolina Stingrays) and two games on Wednesdays (March 17th against the Charlotte Checkers and March 31st against Reading. Of the thirty-three weekend contests, 16 will be on Fridays, 11 on Saturdays and 6 on Sundays.
Against each team individually, the Jackals will play Cincinnati 4 times (3 home, 1 road), Reading 14 times (7 home, 7 road), Johnstown 10 times (5 home, 5 road), Wheeling 10 times (5 home, 5 road), Trenton 14 times (7 home, 7 road), Toledo 5 times (1 home, 4 road), Gwinnett 4 times (2 home, 2 road), South Carolina 3 times (1 home, 2 road), Charlotte 3 times (1 home, 2 road), Kalamazoo 3 times (2 home, 1 road) and two home games against Florida.

Some random highlights about the Jackals 2009-2010 regular season schedule: The Jackals longest home stretch will be 8 games (February 14th ~ March 6th) and 10 of 11 (February 14th ~ March 13th). The Jackals longest road trip consists of 7 games starting December 3rd and concluding on December 18th. Elmira will be Home Sweet Home as the team will be playing 15 of their final 23 contests at the friendly confines of First Arena. The Jackals will be facing the Toledo Walleye for the first time with back-to-back road contests, Saturday and Sunday, December 12th & 13th. The Walleye will make one visit to First Arena on Sunday, January 31st, 2010. Elmira will be renewing old acquaintances with their former United Hockey League rivals, the Kalamazoo Wings, with three contests in the month of March; Saturday March 6th and Friday March 13th at First Arena with the Wednesday, March 24th at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo. The Jackals will have home games on Halloween, Saturday, October 31st, 2009 versus Trenton, Valentines Day, Sunday, February 14th, 2010 against Trenton, and St. Patrick's Day, Wednesday, March 17th, 2010 against the Charlotte Checkers.
