Eklund Reports Canucks Have Interest in Jaromir Jagr

Title pretty much says it all.

If you're Gillis and you are looking to add scoring, do you take Jagr at the right price? He doesn't exactly score too many ugly goals, but he's dangerous inside the hashmarks with a shot that can hit the net.

I'm usually not in favor bringing in too many players in the twilight of their career, but Jagr could likely produce at least 70 poitns for this team. Jagr is a sure bet for the hall which is different than bringing back say Trevor Linden to finish his days here.

Oh well, while we're at it. How would this top six suit you?

The thing is, Jagr will get big money else where. This isnt going to happen. If it does, I'll eat my hat.

You expect Vancouver to land both Jagr AND Sundin?

ya not happening barring a major reversal in both the Canucks pursestrings an the Leafs (lone?) star's wish to stay with the sunk ship.

Sounds to much like an attempted one year fix with nothing towards the futer.

Isn't Demetria both a centre and a winger? He was a centre in LA wasn't he, and he was originally signed to minny to centre Gaborik wasn't he? So he could be a centre one would think.

Anyways, Eklund also has rumours that the Canucks might be interested in signing RA Jeff Carter from the Flyers, if they are he could be a number two centre, but I can't see him hlping Naslund or Jagr too much.

I'm happy to say this is the first Eklund thread I've read in a long time. Hopefully we aren't overloaded with them in the offseason. :n

I want to know why the Canucks are being alleged to be going for the record of oldest average age. Are they going to try to bring Brett Hull back, too?

Jeremy Roenick was only on a one-year deal...check him out.
