Condors Skate in to Holidays on High Note

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors won two of three games last week, crushing Las Vegas, 5-1, on Monday, dropping a 5-4 decision to Utah on Friday, and coming back to dump the Grizzlies, 6-3, on Saturday. The Condors are 16-8-2 on the season, and their 34 points has them nipping at the heels of Stockton and Las Vegas (35 points apiece) for first place in the Pacific Division.

The Condors finish out 2006 on the road, with three games against the Idaho Steelheads in Boise, Dec. 28-30. All games are slated to begin at 6:10 p.m. (PST). Bakersfield returns to The Nest on Saturday, January 6, 2007, with a 7 p.m. game against the Victoria Salmon Kings.

Bakersfield dominated from start to finish in the special midnight game at the Orleans Arena. Josh Liebenow had a goal and two assists. Jamie Hodson won his sixth straight game.

Friday, Dec. 22:
CONDORS 4 vs Utah 5 (Attendance: 4,538)
The Condors squandered a 4-2 lead in the third period and fell to the Grizzlies, 5-4. Andrew Oke scored his first goal of the season. Brett Lutes added his team- leading 13th marker.

Saturday, Dec. 23:
CONDORS 6 vs Utah 3 (Attendance: 5,239)
Bakersfield raced out a 5-0 lead, then hung on for the win. Danny Taylor was superb in goal, stopping 43 shots. Joel Irving led the offensive barrage with two goals and two assists.


Todd Griffith and Rane Carnegie were selected to represent Bakersfield in the ECHL All-Star Game on Jan. 17, 2007, in Boise, ID.
Griffith has five goals in his last four games
Josh Liebenow has points in five straight games (3g, 6a, 9 pts)
Kevin St. Jacques has an eight-game point-scoring streak, and 16 total points during that span
St. Jacques was activated from the 3-day IR on Friday, Dec. 22
