Kyle Richter of Calgary, a freshman at Harvard, was named ECACHL goaltender of the week after backstopping the Crimson in victories over Rensselaer and Union. Richter blocked 16 shots in a 2-1 win over the Engineers on Jan. 5 before making 30 saves in a 3-2 victory over the Dutchmen on Jan. 6.
Colgate junior forward Tyler Burton of Langley, B.C., recorded his 50th career goal in a 3-2 loss to Niagara on Jan. 5. David Jones of North Vancouver, a junior forward at Dartmouth, compiled two goals and an assist in a win over Rensselaer on Jan. 6 and recorded an assist the night before in a 4-1 loss to Union. Quinnipiac junior forward Jamie Bates of Toronto scored both goals in a 2-0 victory at Princeton on Jan. 6. Union freshman forward Jason Walters extended his point-scoring streak to eight games over the weekend and is now tied with Quinnipiac freshman forward Brandon Wong of Victoria in overall scoring by rookies with 19 points.
